Makerspace in Kindergarten

We had our second day of makerspace in Kindergarten today. The purpose of makerspace is to give students time and tools to explore what they can create. I record their creations by taking pictures. The follow up is to the first day of makerspace was to write about what they made and describe what it can do. Today their purpose was to explore three-dimensional shapes in their creations. This is the real-world application of what we are learning about in math. It gives them a chance to reason about the attributes of cubes, cylinders and rectangular prisms. They will write about their creations next week. The focus of the writing will be to describe yhe three-dimensional shapes that are in their creation. I have included a few photos of their creations.
