Turtle Pond
We learned a new coding program. Turtle Pond from NCTM Illuminations gives the students an opportunity to practice math and computer science skills while having fun. We learned the program together as a group. There was a big cheer every time the turtle reached the pond. The students had a chance to try it on their own during centers. I was so proud of the students who persevered through many errors to accomplish their goal.

Kinder Concert
We attended a music concert for Kindergartners and 1st graders at Lincoln St Elementary today. The concert featured a quintet of string instruments. There were 2 violins, 1 cello, 1 bass and 1 viola. Before the concert started the students were able to see and hear a cello and bass up close. We learned the terms allegro and largo by listening to the story of the tortoise and the hare set to music.
